» Biography
The band started rehearsing in late 1998 as a 4 piece confusion, trying to imitate the contemporary Morning-Again-mosh-style under the name COUNTLESS. At that point Countless was Daniel (vox), Markus (git), Phillip (bass) and Felix (drums). After our first really really bad shows we got Roland on drums, who made it possible to record a demo, which was released on a cassette in June 1999 by our friend xMatzex on OurWorld Records. I guess it wasn't that bad, as it was sold 500 times in a short period. Right after the Demo release we luckily got Arne on 2nd guitar and we started writing more complex, more gloomy songs. We also changed our name into ABSIDIA as we were no longer content with our former, rather generic name. In June 2000 we went to the studio again to record our CD "WRITTEN IN MINOR KEY" which was released in 2001 through Markus Haas and holy PER KORO Records. The band was quite torn in these days as we had severe problems with our bassplayer Phillip, so he had to go. After half a year playing shows without a bassplayer, we luckily got Peter to play bass. It was him, who brought a new wind of enthiusiasm into the band. In that time we also put out a Split 7" with our friends XMaroonX released by Captain Crap on Crap Chords. In the meantime our CD sold very well and we had the possibility to play more and more shows, especially in eastern Germany. In late 2001 we got the chance to record a Split CD/LP with SixReasonsToKill, but unfortunately our drummer Roland had to move for his education and it was impossible to uphold regular practising, not to mention getting the new songs recorded properly. So Marc-Antonio (ex-Man Vs Humanity/ex-Fear Is The Path To The Dark Side) offered to record the new songs with us. It worked out that well that we decided to take him into the band. After a very hard rehearsing time we finally recorded the songs for the "MORPHOLOGY OF FEAR"-Split , which was released in February 2002 as a cooperation project between PerKoro and Bastardized Records. The band dissolved early 2003, soon after Roland Boeffgen, original drummer, rejoined the band on guitar to replace former member and songwriter Markus Faelchle. Arne Link, Roland Boeffgen and Marc-Antonio Hartmann haved formed THE CRIMSON DIVINE and continue the holy metal of death with full force. Marc-Antonio quit THE CRIMSON DIVINE in April 2005. He is not active in a band ever since. The band still exists and works on their full length album. Peter Bastian is in TEAMILLER and singer Daniel Dietelbach sings for SINCE THE DAY!
