The debut album of Zero Mentality entitled "in fear of forever" is bound to turn some heads in the hardcore scene and all affiliated underground music scenes, where "imitating" instead of "creating" and "innovating" has become more than just a fad. It has become a sad reality. While being aware of their musical roots, ZM was never satisfied with imitating a certain sound and style or limiting themselves by sticking to some pre-modelled formula. From the very beginning when ZM started out in the winter of 2002, they made it their goal to bring out the individuality of each member - whose backgrounds range from all different schools spectrums of the underground - in their sound. This was shown on the band's demo which was received so successfully it later went to be released as a 7 inch too. ZM is trying to push the boundaries and write fresh and uncompromising songs with free and remarkable lyrics, in order to create a sound and message of their own. In their short existence, ZM has supported some of the biggest names in hardcore such as Madball, Terror, Converge, Born From Pain and has played pretty much all over the European continent. With the release of "In Fear Of Forever" on GSR Music, ZM will be a touring machine throughout 2005 and this includes a tour during May with Born From Pain (Metal Blade) which will sweep across Europe and destroy everything in it's path. The live setting is the perfect way to view ZM's always intense and passionately presented performances as they have received respect and critical acclaim from people of various musical backgrounds and genres in and outside the hardcore scene. ZM are definitely seen as one of Germany's most promising bands and with their upcoming debut album about to be released, witness Zero Mentality grow into a monster. This is just the beginning.
