» Biography
Contrary to popular belief, P.D formed in 1995 when college buddies, Sean McKee and Stu Butcher decided they wanted to put a band together, that took influences from the likes of Warzone, Sick of it All, Agnostic Front etc. They called in fellow hc fan from the Ely ghetto, Justin Taylor(Speedo),Fleshbind drummer Ian Watkins and Ponty boy Mike Lewis and this culminated in them recording their first demo "Lash Out" in March 1996.
Various local gigs with the likes of Fleshbind, Disco Assassins and Four letter Word followed and by Feb 97 they were ready to record, their 2nd demo entitled "Who's First". This saw the band branch out and play gigs in London and Portsmouth with the likes of Knuckledust, Ninebar,Medulla Nocte, Stampin' Ground and Above All. Playing further afield got them noticed by Household Name Records, who invited them to contribute tracks to the "4-Way tie Up E.P", along with Lockdown, FLS and Freebase.
This was followed by the UKHC complilation which again HHN invited P.D to contribute 2 tracks to. February of 1998 saw P.D enter the studio to record their first C.D, entitled "Victim of Circumstance"on the now defunct Days Of Fury Records from Liverpool. This release saw P.D incorporate the "Clevo sound" ,for which they are best known, into their songs. More gigs followed with the likes of 25 Ta Life, Agnostic Front, Rykers and countless London bands, before the band went through their first line up change.
Local drum protege Paul Bailey was brought in to replace Ian who wanted to concentrate on his other band - Lost.... something. Bailey's involment took P.D to new levels and in 1999 they recorded their strongest material, "Posessed to Hate".
The fascination with Clevo had surpassed the previous NYHC obsession, and Possessed To Hate encapsulates the feelings of confrontation, hatred, negative adrenalin and total rage the band had begun to experience towards certain individuals in the hardcore scene. Terrorizer even said the band had "revenge obsessed lyrics"
As well as this cd, the band contributed to yet another compilation CD, this time a Cro-Mags Tribute C.D "Ushering in a New Age of Quarrel. Released on Blackfish Records, P.D offered their ferocious version of the Cro-Mags classic, "We Gotta Know".
Shortly after Mike left the band to join Ian in Lozt Prophetz and the band drafted in long time friend and influence Neil Smith. Sadly this line up was short lived and P.D broke up in late 2000.
