» Biography
Mixing the energy of hardcore, the ferocity of metal, and the intensity of southern groove, One Dead, Three Wounded has been pummeling audiences in the Philadelphia, PA area for years now. They are finally ready to unleash their sound on the rest of the world. This five piece plays a punishing kind of metal, while exploring stylings of southern grooves made famous by bands such as Down...complete with destructive floor clearing breakdowns. Their creative take on metal and hardcore leads them down a well worn path, but leaving most others laid to waste. One Dead, Three Wounded is a five-piece metalcore group from Philadelphia, PA. Forming late in 1998, One Dead, Three Wounded began establishing themselves by playing shows in venues throughout the Philadelphia area and southern New Jersey. In December of 2000 they recorded their first demo. After selling a few hundred copies and playing shows from Conneticut to Florida, they returned to the studio to record "The Heroin Demo", they have since cultivated a sound that is both savvy and brutal. Being their most current release, [the heroin demo] has continued to see great success, and has travelled to listeners far and wide. Within the past year, One Dead, Three Wounded has played shows all over the east coast, including a three-week tour with Saved by Grace (Recorse Records) and Dark Day Dawning (Resurrection AD Records). Following this tour, the band went through some line up changes, but by Spring of this year (2003), the band was completely revived and ready to play out again. Following, two east coast tours in summer 03, One Dead, Three Wounded signed a deal with Lovelost Records in the United States and Burning Season Records in Europe. They will record their debut full length at Skylight Studios in October and November, the soon to be titled release will be available in Early 2004.
